Worn by British Clandestine elements that operated behind enemy lines with partisan guerrilla forces in Greece, badge was used to identify to locals they were friendly forces.  BMM's purpose was to disrupt German supply lines feeding German Forces in North Africa.  The small unit was so successful it was ordered to stay in Greece to coordinate, equip, and direct Guerrilla forces against occupying Axis Forces.
