V Corps was part of the Allied Land Forces, British First Army, in Operation Torch November 1942. Unit was reassigned to the Eighth Army for the remainder of the War in 1943, upon disbandment of the First Army. The V Corps participated in all major Campaigns and Battles from Tunisia to the final Battle for the Gothic Line.
